Auditions!!!!

I hold up auditions to find dancers for my music video. Only a duo came which means I have to find more dancers. I need 7 dancers.
I decided to pick them into the next around and do the music video because I can see potential in them and we can progress and work together to create a good chorography.

Makeup and Costumes

I was looking on Instagram and Google images on my phone, and I was coming through makeup looks and costumes that I would like to create for my music videos.

Makeup Looks - The makeup looks I was going for are brights colours on the eyes with a bold lips. For example, purple, blue, sunset colours and pink

Costumes - The costumes that I am going for are brights colours. I want everything colourful and bold. I have also chosen dark colours like black and white. I did not want to so many colours because I am also having colourful flashing lights as well. And It will be too much. I picked out outfits on the internet that I am going for.
Loving Solange Knowles's Style as her outfit is black and white but its stylish and fashionable. The Ducheness's Look is colouful with loads of colourful.

Researching and Planning

I was going to do an music video using the same chours and same scenes for music videos and not have a narrative story. Then I looked at diffferent kinds of music videos which really don't have the same chours and have narrative story. It is diffferent. I realised that most music videos have a narrative story. Here are some music videos we have looked at. Containing different types of narrative story and not all chours is the same more.

Auditions!!!

Me and my classmates have set up auditions to be hold on Friday 18th october to  find actors, actresses and dancers for our music videos and short films. We thought to put the auditions into one to make it easier. So if one candiate is not suitable for this project, it can be suitable for the other. We have made an poster and put it up into TV screen and around the school.

Target Audience ( Wide Audience)

I have carried out research to target my audience on what music do their like.
I did a questionnaire and send out message to people through whatapps and Facebook. I took some screen shots using my phone and uploaded on my phone of the answers that I have received. I also went out to Central London and ask them if their like Beyonce and if their own a song of hers or go to of any of her concerts. I did a pie charts as well.

Ideal Reader - My Ideal Reader would have to be females aged 14-30 years old. The song is called Grown Women, which kind relates to females, the song talks about being young, growing up and be able to achieve that dream or goals that are set to do. It powering young females. But it could also be targeted to gays, lesbians, men and women. Beyoncé targets a wide audience through her songs.

Researching Different Media Texts

As I have chosen my genre for my coursework. I have decided to do a Pop/R&B music video and I am researching different media text from the same genre as my coursework.  The target audience is more to people who likes R&B, pop and hip pop music and tend to go for the same genre for movies, TV, websites and magazine.

Stomp the Yard is a 2007 drama and dance film produced by Rainforest Films and directed by Sylvain White. When the dance routine comes on the camera work is like how a normal music video would be. This film is more of a hip pop film and the costume and the lighting is the same as a hip pop music video. And they used famous singers like Chris Brown.

106 and Park is a TV show that features hip pop, R&B and pop artists and interviews them and give a performance at the end.  There are have audience/fans in the background, there is quite a lot bright lighting. Mise en scene is colourful, vibrant and alive. They do music videos countdown and they only play a min and a half of the song and the video fades out into the main show and the music still plays out in the background (diegetic sound)

BET is Black Entertainment Television, American basic cable and satellite television channel. It is targets to African American audiences. The television shows awards shows, black shows, music videos, hip pop freestyles, comedy shows and talk shows.

Vibe Magazine is a music and entertainment magazine featuring well known celebrities on the front covers and it covers dream urban lifestyles which features car, jewellery, fashion and gadgets. The magazine is very bright and has colours and a theme too.

Worldwide urban music is a website and uploads and talks about famous celebrities and it keeps you posted about upcoming music videos and albums. You can also submit your own music or videos and people can have a look at it. The website, it’s easy to use and the main colours are black, white and red. I think this is aim at young teenagers that are trying to become famous of their talents and research their pop idol.

Evaluation

What I have found in my research that their all the same genre and targeting the same audience but have different convections. It’s the same.

Collective Identity

Society affects the media and its own representation of collective identity. People in this world uses the media to form collective identity.
People may think that their know who they are as a person or how someone sees them.

"Identity is complicated. Everyone thinks they've got one" By David Gauntlett

We Identity Media via

- Clothes
- Hobbies and Interests
- Who are we friends with
-Names

We share common qualities to create personality and maybe to fit in with others
Cinema in 2013 reflects the changing the women, as we have more rights in some parts of the countries and cinema changes that for women in general on media and laws. But Men are still the bigger than the women.

Kill Bill And Tomb Raider reflects the role of women and how powerful women can be and acts or be like men.

How are music videos different from each other?

Music Videos are not that different from each other because they all have the same shots, camerawork, mise en scene, editing but the only different their have different genres of music. For example classic, pop, rock, r&b, old music. Different types of music but the same camerawork, mise en scene etc.

Beyoncé
Rolling Stones
Madonna
 Michael Jackson
Beehavon
